Each year, Safe Shores partners with community organizations, businesses, and individuals like you lend a helping hand to families in need and give children affected by abuse and violence in D.C. a special holiday.
Here’s how YOU can help support kids and families during the 2018 holiday season:
With winter quickly approaching, many families have an immediate need for warm winter coats. You can help keep a child warm this season by supporting our coat drive. For a full list of needed items, please visit our Amazon wish list here.
Support Safe Shores’ 2018 Holiday Giving Drive by sponsoring a wish list of new toys, clothes and/or other items. Please see our Holiday Giving FAQ’s for additional details. Got enough holiday shopping to do already? Make a donation and Safe Shores will shop for you! (Please indicate “Holiday Giving” in the comments.)
Help create new, joyful memories for the kids and caregivers who attend our weekly Caregiver Support Group. Consider making a donation to allow a child or family to attend a special holiday bowling party. (Please indicate “Holiday Bowling Party” in the comments.)
This holiday season, show caregivers the importance of taking care to give care: help assemble self-care packages for the caregivers in our Caregiver Support Group. For more information and a list of suggested items to include, please contact givetoachild@safeshores.org.
Together we can help make the holidays extra special for D.C families affected by abuse and violence. What a wonderful way to celebrate this season of giving!
