Safe Shores – The DC Children’s Advocacy Center is committed to being a safe, helpful, and trustworthy resource, available to everyone who needs our services and support. Due to COVID-19, we are observing federal and local government public health protection guidelines. Upon arrival, visitors will complete a COVID-19 screening (questions and temperature check) and may be asked to wear a mask. If you have recently had COVID-19, you must wear a mask on the premises for the full 10 days from the date of exposure or infection, consistent with DC Health Department and CDC guidance.

Safe Shores’ 2019 Pack2School Drive

While school is out for the summer, at Safe Shores, we’re working to make sure kids have the learning tools that they need for the 2019-2020 school year.

Every year through our Pack2School Drive, Safe Shores provides sturdy and stylish backpacks filled with grade-appropriate school supplies to our clients who need them. Last year, Safe Shores supporters like you helped provide 154 backpacks to children affected by abuse and other violence in D.C.

Here’s how you can get involved in this year’s drive:

  1. Sponsor a school supply list(s). To become a sponsor, complete the Pack2School Sponsor Request Form here.
  2. Organize a school supplies drive (e.g. at your workplace or house of worship or through your sorority or fraternity). If interested, contact givetoachild@safeshores.org for a list of needed supplies.
  3. Make a monetary donation in support of the drive at safeshores.org/donate (please note “Pack2School” in the comments).

With your support, we will once again equip hundreds of D.C. kids with a fantastic array of brand-new backpacks filled with the specific supplies they each need to start the school year off right. What a wonderful way to show children we care!
