Help Kids Tackle Some of the Huge Challenges of Distance Learning
Safe Shores’ 2020 Pack2School Drive is underway, and we’re counting on you once again to make sure the children we serve have the tools they need for school. Educators and families may not yet know exactly how the school year will look, but we all know that learning must continue.
Pack2School 2020 will provide at least 150 of our young clients with essential school supplies. Thankfully, you share Safe Shores’ commitment to ensuring that DC’s child victims of abuse have the tools needed to learn under these incredibly difficult circumstances. For health and safety reasons, this year we won’t be collecting backpacks and supplies at the Bundy Building. Instead, items will be sent directly to children’s homes. Since a number of our clients have told us they don’t have access to the technology required for distance learning, 25 new laptops are on the list for this year’s drive. That means the estimated cost for Pack2School 2020 is the hightest to date: $25,000.
