Hip, hip, HOORAY…for the kiddos and you! Not only did we reach our $40,000 goal, with the help of many generous donors and a matching grant from the V&S Foundation, we surpassed it! Our team is happily distributing gift cards for over 200 child victims of abuse this holiday season. That’s what we call SHARING JOY!
Nonetheless, 365 days a year, children continue to need Safe Shores’ unique combination of intervention, healing, and hope-giving services. Therefore, donations received for the remainder of 2021 will go directly toward providing our life-saving services to children and families affected by abuse. Know that every dollar of support makes a powerful difference in the lives of abused children in our community.
The Perfect Gift is The One That’s Most Needed
What is the best way to celebrate the holidays? It depends on who you ask! Just like each child we serve is unique, holiday festivities vary from family to family. At Safe Shores, our top priority is meeting the individual needs of the children and families we serve. While we might think we know what the “perfect” gift will be, truly the perfect gift is one that is wanted and needed. That’s why this year, coupled with our continued precaution around COVID-19, our Holiday Giving 2021 Drive will be focused on providing caregivers with gift cards to help them make the season merrier for their families, no matter what that looks like. Make a donation (noting “Holiday Giving” in the comments) and help us reach our $40,000 goal to serve 200 children this season! A monetary donation of $200 will take care of one child’s holiday gift card, but a donation of any size can help us reach our goal.
This isn’t the first time we’ve offered gift cards to caregivers. Last year, to keep people safe, healthy, and home for the holidays, we sent e-gift cards instead of wrapped presents. We didn’t know how families would feel about this new way of doing Holiday Giving. To our delight, the positive comments poured in from caregivers who were thrilled to be able to use gift cards to create the perfect holiday for the children in their lives!
One thing that remains steadfast: the success of Safe Shores’ Holiday Giving Drive will depend completely on the generosity of supporters like you.
