Message Regarding Our COVID-19 Policies

Safe Shores – The DC Children’s Advocacy Center is committed to being a safe, helpful, and trustworthy resource, available to everyone who needs our services and support. Due to COVID-19, we are observing federal and local government public health protection guidelines. Upon arrival, visitors will complete a COVID-19 screening (questions and temperature check) and may be asked to wear a mask. If you have recently had COVID-19, you must wear a mask on the premises for the full 10 days from the date of exposure or infection, consistent with DC Health Department and CDC guidance.

Un espectador es una persona que presencia la violación de un límite o ve una situación de vulnerabilidad de un niño. Es fundamental estar preparado para intervenir como espectador a fin de evitar el abuso sexual de menores. En esta capacitación aprenderá a ser un espectador activo en la prevención y la reacción ante el abuso sexual de menores. Recibirá ejemplos de violaciones de límites y conductas inapropiadas, y de cómo puede realizar intervenciones espontáneas y planeadas que refuercen los límites y protejan a los niños.

Durante la capacitación, escuchará historias convincentes de expertos y sobrevivientes sobre cómo ser un espectador activo. Además:

Aprenderá qué significa ser un espectador activo.
Aprenderá qué medidas puede tomar como un espectador activo.
Recibirá ejemplos de violaciones de límites y conductas que son una señal de alerta.
Aprenderá a realizar intervenciones espontáneas y planeadas.
